ORCA Labs Inc. (“we”) handles personal information obtained through the ORCA consumer-insight service as follows. This policy is provided so overseas counterparties can read the same rules as the Japanese original.

1. What we mean by personal information

Information about a living individual that can identify them, as defined in Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, including name, date of birth and other descriptors, or that contains a personal identifier.

2. How we obtain it

  • When you apply for a service or a sample report
  • When you send information during delivery (hearings, briefings)
  • Enquiries by form or email
  • Information generated automatically (access logs, cookies)

3. What we collect

Name, organisation, title, contact details, business information needed to scope work, usage and download history, and other data required to deliver the service.

4. Purposes of use

Providing and operating the service; answering enquiries; quality improvement; enforcing contracts; informing you of related services; invoicing and contract administration; and complying with law.

5. Disclosure to third parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent, except where Japanese law allows (legal duty, vital interests, public health, or cooperation with public authorities). Processors acting on our instructions, successors in a merger, and notified joint users are not “third parties” in that sense.

6. Processors and overseas AI vendors

We may use Anthropic, other large-language-model providers, Apify, Supabase, Cloudflare, Google, email vendors and Stripe as processors. Some are outside Japan. We impose contractual duties and apply the safeguards required by Article 28 of the Act.

7–13. Security, retention, your rights, cookies, minors, changes, contact

We apply organisational, technical and physical measures; keep data only as long as needed plus statutory retention; and accept requests for disclosure, correction or cessation at the address below after identity checks. Cookies are used for analytics (including Google Analytics) and can be refused in the browser. The service is aimed at businesses, not minors. Changes will be posted on this site with an effective date.
